How it works: DIY Lipstick & Lip Balm Kit
To create your own lip products you’ll need a few tools for mixing ingredients, warming them and shaping the final product. One O'Tool Essentials kit is all you’ll ever need. Use it again and again, and save by buying only the refills for future creations. 💪💪💪
What’s included?
Everything you need for DIY lip products in a single kit: 1 Beaker, 1 Mold, 1 Silicone Spatula and 1 Lipstick Stick.
- Heat‑resistant beaker : a clear, graduated polypropylene beaker (25 mL / 0.85 fl oz) designed to withstand high temperatures and safe for microwave use. Its precision pour spout makes pouring and filling easy and mess‑free, ideal when working with melted bases for your DIY lipstick and lip balm kit.
- Mold : composed of a durable polypropylene support, a polished silver aluminum ring, and a silicone insert with a nail‑shaped cavity. This design produces smooth, easy‑to‑apply lip balms and lipsticks every time.
- Silicone spatula : a flexible black silicone spatula perfect for blending pigments and bases. Its shape and feel make color mixing simple and precise.
- Lipstick stick : matte white cardboard tubes branded with the Ophelier logo and a shiny silver PP inner sleeve, identical to these. Additional sticks are available to order separately.
Quick cleaning guide
O'Tool Essentials are designed for easy use and fast cleanup. The beaker’s rounded corners make rinsing and wiping quick and thorough. Most components are silicone or polypropylene and can be cleaned safely by hand. Don’t forget to clean your work surface and any containers or the microwave you use to heat the base. We recommend hand‑washing after each session — it only takes a few moments.
Tips for perfect mixes
Start by adding pigments until you reach a shade you like — don’t worry if it’s not perfect right away, you can fine‑tune it later. Next, pour in your O'Lip BASE and mix thoroughly once it’s melted. If needed, add a few more drops of pigment to adjust the color. See detailed step‑by‑step instructions here.
